Galveston has many fun places but Nick’s is unique. Located at the Seawall and 37th street, Nick’s offers a huge menu. Lots of kid friendly items too. On weekdays they have a terrific happy hour with 1/2 priced appetizers. That starts at 3pm. Out on the beach patio you will find a gigantic pool and a very large spa. All of this right on the beach! Food is served both inside and outside at the bar. The menu is on their home page.

Galveston beers are available here on draft and, of course, we highly recommend them. There’s Tiki Wheat, Causeway Kolsh and various other beers from time to time.Seems like they have about twenty beers on draft and a very large selection of bottled and canned beer. Of course the margaritas are awesome!

The huge swimming pool also features a separate kiddy pool with some fun fountains. On weekends, you will often find excellent cover bands and it’s a really fun place to meet happy people. Parking out front in the tiny lot is not to be recommended. Just across the street from Gaido’s is a large parking lot. If you want to go spend time on the beach, you can simply park here, go to the beach and then pig out with a margarita.

If you want to have an easy going beach retreat, you can stay at the Gaido Inn on the property and just walk from your room to the pool or beach. Nearby you’ll also find the shops that rent bikes and super bikes that seat eight. For an elegant dinner we recommend Gaido’s seafood restaurant right next door. Gaido’s was founded over 100 years ago and is now run by the third generation. Nick is one of the kids who makes the whole enchilada work smoothly in a fun way.
